After much deliberation authors have decided to implement multiplayer support into Lambda!!! In order to make multiplayer a reality, Lambdascript may well have to be simplified a little in order to allow tidy communication between the server and clients. Further development of Lambda is slow while they do a little R&D on the best way to implement net support (in functionality and gameplay).
Bad news for low-end users is decision to dis-continue support for the low-bandwidth version of LAmbda site.

AmigaExtreme got more informations about Q-Lab's upcoming games. So the first one "WEL" is a real-time 3D game, and will need a minimum of an 060, although it might have to be PPC only as the 3D engine is EXTREMELY complex... It will hopefully be similar to the adventure parts of "Half Life" on the PC, but will have a lot more interaction and puzzles to solve."
Second, "the new war game" (name still missing) is a first person shooter. It will be mission based, similar to GoldenEye on the N64, but will be a lot less linear (the missions you play will depend on how well you perform in previous missions!). It should need a minimum of an 040 with 16MB to run it.

12.6.99 REBOL/Core now on 21 platforms with new 2.0.4 version
REBOL, The Internet messaging language (TM) has now been released in its new, 2.0.4. version, extending number of platforms to 21. 2.0.4. finally supports not only SOCKS5, but also SOCKS4 and generic proxies, it now has extended default permissions for BeOS and UNIX/LINUX systems, and various minor bugs were fixed. T-zer0 shoot'em up game release has been postponed a bit because a lot of things have been added: There are now 2 types of CD music you can choose from (high-tech and classic arcade), you can choose between high-tech and arcade style powerups, explosions have been redesigned, intro has been extended with speech and more gfx. Anyhow, the game should be finished within days. It will then go through final testing, then production, and it should be out just in time for World of Amiga.
