Amiga Survivor is a well established Amiga magazine, originally published by Robert Iveson as a paid-for games publication. CS&E set up a media division to relaunch the magazine and continue in the Amiga market. With the alleged financial difficulties of Amiga,Inc and lack of information or support from them it is now only viable for the magazine to continue with the support of other companies in this market, since we made a decision this week not to rejoin the Amiga market for the AmigaDE. While we do not want to abandon a sinking ship, it really is up to the companies involved to show they are professional enough to advertise. I've enclosed a bit of a poem at the end which illustrates my point!
Distribution agreements have been made with Amiga Plus, Amiga Future and GTI in Germany. Power Computing, Eyetech and Analogic in the UK, and CS&E's existing team of 17 world-wide distributors, including Nascr (http://www.nascr.net ). With magazines only going out to active buyers of magazines, hardware and software we have the backbone of the industry and expect little wastage from a print run of around 15,000.
It is a full colour A4 publication of 24 to 40 pages every two months. Paid-for subscriptions will still be accepted with a coverdisk and guaranteed subscription going out to such customers directly from CS&E. This publication will of course not be profitable without successful advertising that works.
The price of advertising is as follows:
1 page full colour  £400 £320
½  page full colour £200 £160
¼ page full colour £100 £80
1 page black and white  £150
½ page black and white £95
Black and white pages are designed for user groups, non-profit making organisations and gaming companies who would otherwise not be able to advertise.
Any requests for free copies of magazines (from companies) will be accepted. Readers can subscribe directly or buy something from one of our distributors.
By the end of January we will have our answer. Personally I don't expect anything to happen but I've got things in place to offer Amiga companies a viable and verifiable advertising opportunity.
Please view the attached preview of a couple of the inside pages in full colour, made on Pagestream.
The magazine will be sent to distributors in February subject to the commitment of a couple of advertisers.
