Leon r. Tan: "I wrote this email to Dr. Greg Perry and this is what he said:

Q: "Perhaps it's too early to tell, but do you think that Dopus Magellan2 will run on AmigaOS4.0?"
A: "Absolutely no idea:) Depends on what they do. From some of the silly decisons made with OS 3.5/9 I would wonder:))"

Q: "They said that most parts still will be 68K and others will be PPC ones. Some time ago, I have read something about putting the source code on sale at an internet auction website. Does this also mean, that if there is someone who wants the code, a PPC version can be made?"
A: "Yes the source for Dopus Amiga is for sale. US$25K. We offered it to AmigaInc some time ago but they were not interested and H&P just laughed at us when we offered it to them! We do tend to believe that development of AmigaOS is driven by cheapness and ability to incorporate free or shareware stuff rather than by a professional development effort. (No critism of the actual coders intended) DOpus could well be used as the starting point for a new front end GUI for the Amiga. It would drag the OS into the 21st century. Haven't seen any other ideas which are worth wasting electrons on:)"

Q: "Perhaps you or me, can put up a poll on one of the news websites, to vote for Dopus in PPC, just to know how many people like the idea. Personally, I don't want to have a PPC AmigaOS that still uses the old Workbench. I have also heard that there will be a new Workbench in AmigaOS 4.5. Do you have an opinion on this? I really believe that Dopus has to be included in a PPC OS."
A: "Yes but who is going to pay for development? The market for Amiga software is not practically nonexistant."

Q:"Another question: do you know when the Opus 6 final version will be for sale on PC?"
A:"Sure:) We are at final testing of the pre-release and are working a a new ecommerce site. We would hope it would be available in around 2 weeks. Keep an eye on the web site in a couple of weeks.

Leon r. Tan: "I hope to hear from you soon."
Greg Perry: "Thanks for the interest!"
