"LightWave4 Unofficial Patch" (LW4UP) is now in pre-beta testing stage the patch
is for Layout and the purpose is to fix most of the CyberGraphX problems.
A public beta version will be released on Aminet as soon basic
testing of patch has been done (bug permitting of course ;).
There will be two versions, one general one for 060.

Features:

    * No need for screen promotion anymore, CGX screens can be
      directly selected from Options-Panel (ASL-Requester).
      Any screenmode from 672x432 and up can be selected and in
      256, Hi or True color.

    * Last selected (CGX) screen ModeID is saved in ENV:/
      ENVARC: on exit and will be used on next startup.

    * Combined FeedBack/Status window on Layout screen,
      FeedBack is displayed in 32 gray-shades on 8bpp screens
      and in color on Hi/True color screens

    * It's now possible to Make/Play Preview's (didn't work
      with promotion).

    * The Color Swatch windows has got it's own color pen

    * Faster screen update i.e no offscreen buffers in CHIP and
      no Amiga-Blitter line drawing.

    * A lot of 040/060 emulated instructions have been removed
      plus several other changes gives a (small) increase in
      render speed, 20-30%, mainly when using proc. textures.
      This is an on-going process and there will be further
      updates.

    * Two ENV: switches:
        For Toaster systems; ON forces Preview to be displayed
        on CGX screen even if LightWave is started from
        Switcher, this is a experimental function and has not
        been tested.

        Main CGX switch; OFF forces Layout to open on standard
        Amiga screen even if a valid CGX ModeID is found (if
        switch is ON and ModeID can't be found, ASL screen
        requester opens on WB)
