Transmeta Corporation today announced specifications of its premier product, the Crusoe (tm) processor, a revolutionary x86 and 68k compatible family of solutions designed for internet computing. Whilst upgrade paths in the form of Slot 1 processors will be available for IBM AT/ATX boards, we have not yet released details of our upgrade solutions for other machines. We have been working in close co-operation with Phase5 gmbh to be able to bring to the Amiga (tm) 1200 series, a Transmeta Crusoe (tm) processor upgrade. This card will fit in the Amiga 1200 "trapdoor" slot, and will also come with an AGP (4x) expansion slot for future graphics upgrades. Phase5 gmbh have worked closely with Transmeta Corporation, in order to offer a full implementation of the revolutionary hardware-software hybrid on AmigaOS 3.1 and upwards systems. The core libraries of the AmigaOS have already been ported to take direct advantage of the Crusoe (tm) processor. Pricing for the AmiCrusoe (tm) board will be at $699.99 inc. taxes and shipping. Further upgrades to be made available by Phase5 gmbh are implementations of the Voodoo3 and RivaTNT2 graphics cards. These will retail at $169.99 and $219.99 respectively.
