San Diego, CA - May 19th 1999 - Amiga announces the creation of the Amiga Advisory Council. "In order to make Amiga a great company, delivering the type of innovative products that users desire, it is imperative that the Spirit of Amiga flow throughout our products, and that Spirit is the community." Said Jim Collas - President of Amiga As the company moves forward, the advisory council will be influential in helping to set the future direction of Amiga, with a special focus on the needs and desires of the existing Amiga community. "The Amiga community is one of the most valuable communities in the computer industry. They are a great resource that needs to be heard as we maintain delivery of current product while moving into new areas and directions for Amiga. There are great people in the community with great ideas, and a talent pool that is without equal. It is because of the leaders and members of this community that the Amiga is alive today," Jim Collas - President of Amiga The Amiga Advisory Council will consist of members from the community and the Amiga leadership team. Candidates will be selected over the next 30 days from nominees submitted to Amiga. Amiga will be evaluating and selecting the candidates based on the following criteria. * Experience with the classic Amiga products * Experience with the various Amiga user groups or similar Amiga community organization (such as ICOA, Brainiac, UGN, Team Amiga, Jay Miner Society, AmigaSOC, D.A.U.G.) * Amiga Dealers and Distributors * Amiga Developers * Communication with the Advisory council will be in English and will primarily be done via the Internet. In the coming weeks nomination forms will be found on the Amiga WebSite. The Amiga Advisory Council is expected to be in place by the end on June.
