Subject: Amiga BGUI development continues

For immediate release:

Access to http://www.bgui.e-na.net for more information.

After changing hands once again, the development of BGUI - the Amiga BOOPSI
GUI toolkit - was taken over by Manuel Lemos early this year. Discretely,
a team of several other Amiga developers was gathered to carry on the work
of fixing remaining bugs and adding new features. BGUI is freely available
as before.

BGUI features a comprehensive set of gadget from simple buttons to complex
list views with support for OS legal clipped views (virtual groups), drag
and drop, ARexx support, Commodities support, keyboard navigation all with
very responsive user input handling honouring one of the remaining
advantages of the Amiga OS. BGUI comes with user preferences GUI editor
and a GUI builder is also available.

A new users mailing list was created and a dedicated Web site was brought
up to provide access to new versions of bgui.library, utilities and
developer materials. There is now also a on-line Bug database to let users
post feature requests or make bug reports and follow their evolution. The
site is located at http://www.bgui.e-na.net/ .

If you are willing to contribute to the development of BGUI, feel free to
apply to developer status. Once you are approved you'll have access to
BGUI source code either from BGUI Web site or through a dedicated CVS
server. Interested developers should contact Manuel Lemos
(mlemos@acm.org).

Regards,
Manuel Lemos
