Mac Hellwig reported, that there is a LinuxPPC port of SheepShaver in the works. SheepShaver is a MacOS run-time environment for BeOS under development by Christian Bauer and Mar"c" Hellwig and runs both PowerPC native and 68k Mac applications. With a LinuxPPC version Amiga PowerUP users should finally be able to use a working PowerMAC emulator. For more information about SheepShaver look here.

There is new TIFF datatype called akTIFF.datatype, which is based on the latest TIFF reference sources (libtiff 3.4beta037), from Andreas R. Kleinert. Reading of LZW compressed TIFF graphics is disabled because of legal reasons :-(. There are 68000, 020/030, 040 and 060 versions, plus PPC ELF module.

SoftPartners is a new private company established to serve the software needs of different computer platforms. Initial software release will be the FinalOffice 1.0 for the Amiga. This software package shall contain Final Writer 97, Final Calc, Final Data, Final Writer for Windows, and the Holiday Cliparts. FinalOffice 2.0 will not be released if FinalOffice 1.0 does not sell in sufficient quantities to justify the expense of developing for the entire Final Series for the Amiga by SoftPartners.(???)
All "Final" programs were created by SoftWood Inc. (Their web site is not for unknown reasons temporarily available.)

GoldED Studio 5 has been released for AmigaOS 3. The CD-ROM includes GoldED 5, the HTML publishing tool Webworld, Roget's English Thesaurus, the spellchecking module Joyce and various other add-ons. Now you can download GoldED 4.7.3 version for free. It is meant as demonstration for GoldED Studio 5.

I am using GoldED4 for editing Czech Amiga News web pages. It's great!

13.9.98 FastQuake4 illegal PPC port
Illegal versions of Quake for PPC are probably responsible for the lack of an official PPC version from Clickboom but one of them - FastQuake4 is getting really cool. On PowerUp mailinglist Morten Tørrisen reported 11,50fps on 800x600 CVPPC, A4000T 604/200MHz. Boris Bojic reported 31fps on 320x240 CV64/3D, A4000 604/233MHz.

PreludeA1200 will plug into the A1200's realtime clock port along with a connection terminal in the rear expansion booth. It has an active microphone input with pre amplifier and power supply for condenser microphones. All the other features are almost identical to the Prelude.
