30.9.2k APC&TCP has just one single distributor: GTI
Andreas Magerl: "Epic Marketing UK (not Epic Germany!!) hasn't been our English distributor for a long time and hasn't been supplied by us with anything. Epic UK does also not receive any legal software from our company by other middlemen. Epic UK should not have one single product of APC&TCP in their stock after a whole year (products which haven't been payed for anyway), so they can't offer nor sale any of our products. If this should be the case anyway - well, it should be clear enough what exactly is sold there :("

30.9.2k fxSCAN SE no more part of ScanQuix 5
Felix Schwarz: "Some time ago, RBM decided to stop buying serial numbers for fxSCAN SE from us. As a consequence of this and the fact, that RBM has produced ScanQuix-CDs in great numbers some time ago, the currently delivered ScanQuix-CDs still contain fxSCAN SE but no serial number, as RBM no more has any license from us for these. Please don't send us email asking for a serialnumber for fxSCAN SE, as no license for these fxSCAN SE-versions exists and RBM hasn't paid for them. We therefore ask for your understanding, that we can not give out free serial-numbers on request. From now on, fxSCAN can only be bought in its full version. Another new version of AmiDog's Movie Player 2 - AMP 2 pre5 has been released. This releases adds seeking in MPEG system (audio and video) streams.
Fixed a few sync problems and rewrote parts of the MPEG audio decoder to properly handle syncing. Optimized the MPEG video decoder a little (3-5%) and changed the way the syncing is performed by the video decoder, this should hopefully make playback smoother, but the video is allowed to be a little off sync. Some speedups to the buffer handling. Feedback on the performance compared to other previews is much appreciated.

16.9.2k HyperCOM Magic Update with IOBlix Emulation
With the new HypeCOM update they are making a lot of new functions official at once, hence there is a big chance for problems to occur which they did not realise up to now. As substitute for the old SilverSurfer software we are now officially offering a support via the hyperCOM1.device from version v2.96B1, which has been enhanced or made faster in all parts compared to the old silversurfer.device.
On of the most important new functions now is an implemented IOBlix software emulation, which allows some programs and drivers to be used with the extremely compatible HyperCOM boards, at last. Here are some examples on what already works: ScanQuix5 parallel Scanner-Support, Camouflage 8x parallel Midi-Interface, RBM AmStrong USV, IOBlix ioblixzip.device for IO-Mega parallel ZIP-Drives. Within the next days the technical part of the emulation will be enhanced further, so that surely even more applications and drivers can be used with the HyperCOM boards.

14.9.2k Earth 2140 News
Epic interactive announces portation to the Amiga of the successful realtime strategy game "Earth 2140". Epic has got the license from Topware Interactive AG to port the game from Windows to Mac and Amiga. The Amiga version is currently at an early beta state and release is estimated for early November.
Since the game runs in 16Bit it requires high level hardware: at least an Amiga with 68040 processor, graphics board and 16MB of RAM. But recommended is an Amiga PPC with graphics board and 32MB of RAM. Earth 2140 plays in the year 2140. The earth is controlled by two competing forces, the Eurasian Dynasty (ED) and the United Civilised States (UCS). Both are at war with each other fighting for the last remaining raw materials on earth... The Amiga version comes with different localisations, including German.

Swap.pD would like to expand to develop a licenceware scheme, whereby authors can submit software to Swap.pD with a suggested price (royalties per sale). WinUAE 0.8.14 Release 2 - official port of - official port of UAE for Win95, Win98, WinNT, and Win2K. Toni Wilen will soon take over WinUAE development. Changes

A new UAE JIT "bleeding edge" patch is available. You should get it as a patch against the sanitized Derby County release (3rd alpha). JIT UAE adds just-in-time compilation to the Linux version of UAE, making it a lot faster than the classic UAE.
It fixes some DGA and DGA2 related problems. It also adds a fallback solution for the JIT compiler's memory access, essentially obsoleting the whole comptrust* stuff (you can now set them all to "direct" and be done with it ;-). Also, it has what should be more precise timing code for the cpu_speed=max setting, as well as some minor P6 optimizations. All in all, lots of weird and wonderful new stuff...

Unfortunately there were no responses during the last weeks, so he thinks that noone uses Pegas e anymore or there is no interest in further versions. Especially on pure 68k-Amigas there is in my opinion no alternative to Pegase - MP§-encoding without PPC takes too much time. Pegase offers compression-times of 2:1 on my Cyberstorm MK I (50 MHz) and a really good quality of the encoded songs, often even better than free MP3-encoders..."

Due to the partly loss of source code, and some small technical problems we could not release a new version for the ISDN driver over a long period of time. Some customers even suggested that we would have stopped working on it..., but once again we are able to offer to you a masterly achievement of Amiga software, which is only to describe using the words better, faster and turbo.
Please, prove us that did not spend so many month full of work for this costly software for nothing, and if you know another one owning an Amiga ISDN-board, so tell him of the new driver, cause we depend on every support from you. It would be a pitty, if would not be able to finace this software any more in default of interest. So, come on and register for the new beta test, now."

1.9.2k REBOL/View beta5 pre-release rulez!

I dare to say REBOL/View is the most advanced visual scripting language ever created.
